MEET OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS

OUR MISSION

Nurses for Nurses is a nonprofit organization (pending 501(c)(3) status) dedicated to supporting nurses through connection, healing, inspiration and empowerment. We create spaces where nurses can build meaningful relationships with like-minded professionals, recover from burnout through trauma-informed education and self-care practices, and reimagine a nursing career that is sustainable, fulfilling, and rooted in hope for the future of healthcare.

Jennifer Crow BSN, RN

President & Program Director

Jen Crow is the co-founder and driving force behind Nurses for Nurses and Modern Nurse Fest. After experiencing burnout in corporate healthcare, she made the bold decision to leave and build a business centered on connection, empowerment, and meaningful change.

As President and Program Director, Jen is dedicated to helping nurses rediscover their purpose, take control of their careers, and create lives they love. She believes nurses are natural leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs, and she builds programs and events that provide the support, community, and inspiration they need to thrive.

Jen’s leadership is rooted in vision, courage, and advocacy—creating spaces where nurses are seen, celebrated, and empowered to step confidently into their power.

Emily Knife MSN, RN

Vice President & Program Director

Emily Knife is the founder of the School of Modern Nursing and Modern Nurse Fest, and a former nursing instructor, bringing academic expertise and hands-on leadership to Nurses for Nurses. She pioneered Somatic Nursing, integrating neuroscience, movement, and holistic healing to support nurses’ well-being and professional growth.

As Vice President and Program Director, Emily oversees programs, courses, and events that help nurses heal themselves, explore innovative career paths, and build sustainable, fulfilling professional lives. Through her work with Modern Nurse Fest and the global Nurses for Nurses community, she is leading a movement to make nursing modern, sustainable, and deeply rewarding — ensuring that education, self-care, and empowerment are central to every nurse’s journey.

Ashley Chancellor, RN

Secretary and Director of Volunteers

Ashley Chancellor is a registered nurse with 14 years of experience, including extensive travel as an ICU nurse across the U.S. During COVID-19, she stepped away from bedside nursing due to a back injury and PTSD, inspiring her memoir Just a Nurse and fueling her passion for supporting nurses affected by burnout and trauma.

A certified Nurse Coach, Ashley now helps nurses reignite their passion for bedside care or transition into fulfilling roles, emphasizing self-care and personal well-being.

As Director of Volunteers at Modern Nurse Fest and Secretary of Nurses for Nurses, Ashley brings leadership, organizational insight, and compassion to guide both volunteers and board operations, ensuring effective governance and support for the nursing community.
